The School of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems at DePaul University invites applications for Department of Education Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) fellowships.
These fellowships are available for U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled as full-time Ph.D. students at CTI. They are five-year fellowships, and provide for an annual stipend of up to $30,000, plus all tuition and fees. The exact amount of the stipend depends on a Fellow's financial need. Our experience has been that a student with no income or assets but no extraordinary expenses qualifies for a stipend of approximately $24,000.
The funding of the selected students will further the goals of the Department of Educations Program of Assistance in areas of National Need. US competitiveness and continued preeminence in the field of computer science will be more easily maintained by the recruitment of superior students from a broadened pool of candidates, especially those from under-represented groups.
Each fellow will work under the guidance of a mentor who may become the Fellow's research director and/or dissertation advisor. The Fellows' experiences in the program will be enhanced by colloquia, seminars, research experience, subsidized conference attendance, mentored teaching practice, and the provision of lab space and computing equipment for the use of the Fellows.
